My Life from Scratch: A Sweet Journey of Starting Over, One Cake at a Time by Gesine Bullock-Prado (New York, Crown 2010)

Why you should read it: First off, grab the hardcover version of this book if you can as it has the cheeky title “Confections of a Closet Master Baker” (sadly dropped with the paperback edition). Second, if you’re worried about ditching what appears to be the dream job (with tons of glam perks  along with a sure path to fame) to follow your passion, then this book is what you need to  let go of what’s holding you back.
