The Measure of My Powers: A Memoir of Food, Misery and Paris by Jackie Kai Ellis (Canada, Appetite by Penguin Random House 2017)

Why you should read it: Because you love food, Paris and a triumphant story of a woman working through self-doubts (along with a miserable marriage) to accomplish her dreams, deliciously. Brutally honest and stunningly beautiful, this book is one of my keepers.
