Me: Which social media/networking site is your first site of the day – and why?
Lionel: It’s a toss-up between Twitter and Facebook. Twitter to follow up with @ replies, but I’m spending more time in Facebook than in the past primarily thanks to Facebook Groups.
Me: What types of content are you drawn to or what conversations do you engage in?
Lionel: I’m passionate about a lot of things in the digital space, but main areas of interest are employee advocacy, Comms in the digital age, Marketing in the digital age; also interested Crowdsharing as a movement (employee vs. contractor discussions).
Me: What makes social media valuable (or enjoyable) for you?
Lionel: The personal connections that result from it.
Me: Could you give up your social networking habit if you had to?
Lionel: I give it up in stints to unplug, but overall would be really hard quit cold turkey. Social is an inherent way I communicate for years now.
Me: How frequently do you post on social media?
Lionel: Multiple times a day
Me: Do you use any tools / platforms to manage your social media accounts? If so, which ones?
Lionel: Love Nuzzle.com; I use Feedly and Digg Reader, sometimes use Flipboard; Have used Hootsuite off and on, but generally just share to networks via the web and dedicated mobile apps.
Me: Who or What are your favorite sources of insight?
Lionel: Lots of these. Mathew Ingram, Josh Bernoff, Jeremiah Owyang, Danah Boyd, Nate Silver, Charlene Li, Shel Holtz, John Gruber, Marques Brownlee; Sites: Techmeme.com, Nieman Journalism Lab, HBR, The Verge, TechCrunch, several others.
Me: Who or What are your favorite sources of amusement?
Lionel: The Onion, Daily Show (will miss Jon Stewart!)
Me: What do you use to post to social media?
Lionel: Laptop, Mobile, Desktop
Me: When do you use laptop, mobile, or desktop to post to social media?
Lionel: Use desktop at home, laptop at work and on the road, mobile on the road, but sometimes use it in all places since it’s convenient.
Me: Which other social networking sites are your go-to sites?
Lionel: LinkedIn, and then Instagram to a lesser extent.
