Me: Why are you an entrepreneur?
Debrina: I am an entrepreneur because I definitely march to the beat of my own drum. I believe that a dreamer has every right to pursue their dreams with the support of their loved ones, community and a sisterhood. I want to help women tap into their inner goddess and make shift happen. We have and will always be the backbone…therefore, we need to be strong and confident in our own powers, our own being. If we are not happy, can we please and serve as we have been designed to do. I have stepped up as a Light Worker and The Dream Doer to do my part.
Me: What problem would you like solved?
Debrina: I would love to solve 2 serious problems: 1) The tearing down of women as a people, especial sister-on-sister bashing and 2) Childhood obesity…it’s so disheartening.
Me: Advice you’d wished you’d had or had followed?
Debrina: Give in to yourself, give in to your desires.
Me: What does success look like for you?
Debrina: That’s easy. Success looks like LOVE.
Me: Who are your heroes?
Debrina: My parents. My husband. Lauryn Hill. Ellen DeGeneres. My 4th grade teacher Ms. Venus Brown.
Me: What is your best discovery?
Debrina: My best discovery was motherhood. There’s absolutely, positively, nothing like it! It’s the best…however you come about it or enjoy it. Biological, marriage, adoption, foster, surrogate, community, accident, planned, single…even if you only got to cherish the moment for only just that a moment…it’s simply the best.
Me: What would the title of your biography be?
Debrina: The Dream Doer: She came. She saw. She conquered. And she did it again.
Me: What is your biggest regret?
Debrina: My biggest regret is taking out student loans, especially for a degree that I do not use.
Me: Anything else we should know about (product launch, crowdfunding or marketing campaign, recent interview, job openings..)?
Debrina: I am beyond excited to announce that I am launching a new program. Soul Food Society. It’s a 30 Day Transformational Food + Lifestyle Program. The focus is on nourishing the mind, body + soul from the inside-out via an anti-inflammatory eating lifestyle and soulful exercises. There’s a 3-Part Video Training Series as a prelude to the open enrollment for the new program.
