Innovator Insights: Founder/CEO of Runway Passport, Elizabeth Entin @runwaypassport

Name: Elizabeth Entin Title: Founder/CEO of Runway Passport Twitter: @runwaypassport

Elizabeth Entin is the founder of Runway Passport — a marketplace where fashion forward customers can shop and discover emerging designers by city (Accra, Addis Ababa, Amsterdam, Athens, Austin, Berlin, Bettona, Boston, Brighton, Brisbane, Brooklyn + more). Elizabeth works with local curators who are style influencers in their city — these curators literally scour their “home-town” to bring the most interesting and stylish fashion finds to the Runway Passport marketplace. Elizabeth is also a member of Dreamers // Doers, a highly curated community of high-achieving trailblazing women who come together to support each other on their entrepreneurial paths. The community encompasses a diverse mix of female founders, women working at startups, and other female creators, change-makers, and influencers.

Me: Why are you an entrepreneur?

Elizabeth: I think each person has such a unique life perspective and set of experiences. I want to create and share something with the world that comes out of my own set of experiences and from who I am.

Me: What problem would you like solved?

Elizabeth: Well, here is the problem I am solving with Runway Passport. Currently in the fashion industry there are many indie and very talented fashion designers from all around the world. People who really love fashion have a hard time learning about most of them. I would like to have it as easy to discover and shop these emerging designers from around the world as it is for people to shop the large brands with huge advertising and marketing budgets. I want the people who really love fashion to be able to make their choices from all that is out there.

Me: Advice you’d wished you’d had or had followed?

Elizabeth: I wish I had learned to code when I was a child.

Me: What does success look like for you?

Elizabeth: Running a thriving company that adds to the world and improves the world for people. I also want to balance my company with one day having a family and some time to travel.

Me: Who are your heroes?

Elizabeth: Diana Vreeland, Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld.

Me: What is your best discovery?

Elizabeth: That is actually one of my favorite parts of running Runway Passport. I get to learn about and discover a new creative, exciting and really talented designer almost daily.

Me: What would the title of your biography be?

Elizabeth: The World of Fashion

Me: What is your biggest regret?

Elizabeth: I have learned so much from all the mistakes and “wrong decisions” I have made that I am glad I made them. I could get caught up in regretting all the “mistakes” but I am thankful for what I have learned from them, so I don’t like to think of them as regrets.

Me: Anything else we should know about?

Elizabeth: Come check out Runway Passport because we are bringing on new designers from new cities all the time.
