We’re pleased to announce the addition of a new blogger to the turnstone team! J. Kelly Hoey brings a wealth of experience in the entrepreneurial ecosystem as a strategist, speaker and expert networker, equipping those she mentors to take their relationships and ideas to levels beyond ordinary. Kelly’s intimate knowledge of startups, specifically tech companies, makes her a perfect fit for turnstone, complementing our ongoing research around startup culture and disruptive thinking.
Why Kelly Hoey?
With a global reach that continues to expand, Kelly was recently named to Irish Central’s Top 40 Digital Influencers list of 2015 and to The EBW100 List of Most Influential Global Leaders Empowering Women Worldwide (alongside Sir Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington and GE’s Beth Comstock). Among numerous other notable honors and mentions, Kelly has been identified as one of the 100 most influential women on Twitter, is a regular contributor to Inc.com, frequent panelist on CNBC’s Power Pitch and speaker at SXSW.
So, why this passion? What drives her to connect with founders (especially women entrepreneurs) and to see new ideas and young businesses, succeed? She explains:
The mentoring ethos has been part of my professional DNA since my career started in 1991 as a lawyer. My career has been shaped and guided by having access to great mentors as well as the unique perspectives and experiences from a larger, global network of connections. I realize how much this has benefited me personally and how it has changed the trajectory of my career vision, which is the best explanation I have of why I’m so passionate about connecting founders to the ideas and resources they need to be successful.
Beginning in January 2016, Kelly will help turnstone launch Founder Focus, a series of interviews with key founders, innovators and influencers in her New York City network and beyond. The series will share expert insights, explore new ideas, offer innovator’s reflections, plus shed light on lessons learned, and offer tips for those seeking to scale and expand their business.
